1. Do you have a storefront location?
No, we do not have a storefront. All sessions take place in our home studio in Edgewater, New Jersey, offering a private and welcoming environment for your treatments. Alternatively, mobile sessions are available if you prefer care in the comfort of your own home.
2. What types of services do you offer?
At Shire Wellness, we provide a range of holistic services, including massage therapy, energy healing and pain management treatments. Our goal is to address physical, mental and spiritual well-being, using techniques like Swedish massage, Reiki and guided relaxation.
3. Do you offer mobile sessions, and what should I know?
Yes, we offer mobile sessions for clients who prefer treatments in the comfort of their own home. A mobile session allows Jeff to bring his holistic services to your space, providing the same level of care and professionalism as in the studio.
Travel fee: Mobile sessions will incur a $30 charge.
4. How do I book an appointment?
You can use the convenient “Book Service” buttons located on each page, or call or text us at +1 201 431 6162 to schedule your session. We’ll confirm your appointment and request payment to secure your booking, as well as answer any questions you may have.
5. What should I expect during my first visit?
During your first visit, we’ll start with a brief consultation to discuss your wellness goals and any concerns you may have. This helps us tailor your session to your needs. Expect a calming, welcoming atmosphere where your comfort and well-being are our top priorities.
6. What should I wear for my session?
For massage therapy, you can undress to your comfort level. Jeff will ensure you’re covered and comfortable at all times, only uncovering the area being worked on. For energy healing sessions, comfortable, loose clothing is recommended.
7. Are there any pets in the Edgewater home studio?
Yes, the Edgewater home studio has cats. If you have allergies or sensitivities, we recommend scheduling a mobile session in your home to ensure your comfort.
8. Are your services safe for people with medical conditions?
We recommend consulting your healthcare provider if you have specific health concerns. Jeff is trained to work with various conditions and we can adjust our techniques to suit your needs. Please inform us of any medical conditions or concerns during your consultation.
9. How do you ensure the cleanliness of your space?
We prioritize your safety by maintaining a rigorous cleaning and sanitation routine. All equipment and surfaces are sanitized between sessions and we use high-quality, eco-friendly products to keep our space clean and inviting.
10. What is your cancellation policy?
At Shire Wellness, we understand that unexpected changes can happen. Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair and ensure we continue to provide exceptional service to all clients.
• 24-Hour notice: We require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. If an appointment is canceled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice, a fee of 50% of the service cost will be charged. This allows us to accommodate other clients and respect Jeff’s time.
• No-shows: Clients who fail to show up without notice will be charged 100% of the service cost. This policy helps us manage our schedule efficiently and maintain availability for others.
• Mobile visits: For mobile, please ensure the space is prepared and accessible. If a mobile session is canceled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice, the same fees apply. If Jeff arrives and the space is unprepared or inaccessible, 100% of the service cost will be charged.
• Late arrivals: If you arrive late, your session may be shortened to respect the next client, and the full service fee will apply. Arrivals more than 15 minutes late may result in rescheduling and a possible cancellation fee.
• Emergency cancellations: We understand that emergencies occur. If you need to cancel within the 24-hour window due to an emergency, please notify us as soon as possible. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis.
11. Do you offer any package deals or memberships?
In the future, we’ll be offering packages and membership options for clients who want regular holistic care. These will be designed to provide savings and ensure consistent support for your wellness journey. Stay tuned for updates on our website or ask us in person for more details!
12. Do you have any wellness resources for clients to use at home?
Yes, we provide a variety of mindfulness and self-care resources, including guided meditations, wellness tips and seasonal self-care rituals. These will be available on our website or through our social media channels to support your well-being between sessions.

By booking a session with Shire Wellness, you acknowledge and agree that Jeff Bassman and Shire Wellness are not liable for any injury, loss or damage resulting from the use of our services, whether the session takes place at the home massage studio or in your home, except in cases of willful or gross negligence. You agree to receive massage therapy at your own risk and understand the potential risks associated with both in-home and home studio sessions.
Privacy policy
Shire Wellness is committed to maintaining the privacy of our clients. Any personal or health-related information shared with us will be kept confidential and used solely for the purpose of providing massage therapy services. We will not share or sell your information to third parties except as required by law.
COVID-19 protocol
To ensure the safety of our clients and staff, Shire Wellness adheres to strict health and safety protocols. Clients are asked to disclose any symptoms of illness, recent exposure to contagious diseases or positive COVID-19 test results before their appointment. Jeff Bassman reserves the right to reschedule appointments to protect everyone’s well-being.
